Mom Guilt – It’s the Real Deal

February 19, 2016

It's inevitable. As a mom you're going to feel it as some point or another. Mom Guilt. Sometimes it's because you did something blatantly wrong, but that was due to inexperience. (Bouncing your newborns head off the wall anyone?) But other times you're going to have a nagging feeling for hours, days, or even longer. Sometimes you can't even put your finger on it. This post contains ...

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I was pregnant with my first child - delivery scared me! Yea, I knew what was going to happen, and we took the birthing class so we could learn more but it still didn't feel like enough. Then I started asking people about their experiences. Some shared, others told me it's something you talk about after the baby is born, and still others laughed. What's ...

NICU as an Aunt

February 8, 2016

Experiencing NICU as an aunt was terrifying, but I'm sure I only felt a very small fraction of the emotions that my brother and sister-in-law went through. To all the parents of NICU babies. Stay strong. God is with you!

Sitting patiently waiting to get buzzed in. Not knowing exactly what to say. Hearing all these machines, rings, and dings. Seeing very few parents. Hearing cries that don't sound strong enough. Washing my hands longer than I thought was possible, even though I won't be touching her. Walking over to her incubator. Seeing her beautiful face. My niece. She's perfect. She's so ...
