This is a blog about my life, and I hope to help and inspire others through it along the way. I’m Heather, but most know me better as HoJo. I live in South Dakota with my husband Andrew and our two children. My goal here is to share practical, frugal, everyday tips you can use. Andrew and I are currently living on one income – his educator salary. You can read about how we have paid of $70,000 in debt (including student loans), held our wedding on a budget, and finding other ways to save.
I taught in South Dakota public school for seven years before becoming a K-6 principal and K-12 special education director. After the birth of our son in 2015 (and the blood clots that followed!), my priorities changed. That fall I stayed home to raise our son full-time. Now I do virtual assistant work for several companies and bloggers, run this blog, blog at HoJo’s Teaching Adventures, help people live healthier lives, and help make lesson planning easier for teachers with various games and printables.
I’ve been creating various websites on the internet since high school – or the early 2000s. Wow! That means I already have over 15 years into this gig. That also explains why I love my two blogs and the VA work I do for others.
Andrew coaches, puts in countless hours at school and supervising activities, and loves spending time with our kids when he gets home each night.
We love following sports, getting outdoors, going to concerts, and enjoying our time together – even if we do occasionally have to throw a brick at one another. 🙂
If you want to continue on the journey of life with us, we’d love for you to follow us in any of the ways listed below!
Welcome to my blog! Thank you for being here!
~Heather aka HoJo~
