God’s Church Will ALWAYS Take You Back

I’ve been a Christian my entire life. It’s not something I talk about a lot, largely because I’ve been around some very pushy people in the past who have given me a bad taste. I’m more of a “walk the walk” person, rather than “talking the talk”. (Please know that I am far from perfect! I do many things that I shouldn’t, but I try to get a little better each day.)With that being said, I love being around Christian people! When I am able to connect with someone and they are not preachy or pushy, I’m going to be a great friend. Do you feel a calling to go back to church? Maybe you're scared that God doesn't want you anymore. This post will give you the encouragement you need!

I walked away from the church (but never my love for God!) for roughly eight years. I still prayed daily and thought of myself as a Christian, but I never attended church. The first five years I think was my “rebel” stage. The next three, I was honestly afraid that God would not want me in His church since I had been away for so long.

It took my amazing husband’s gentle nudge to get me back to the church. It was scary and I had a lot of doubt about whether God would still accept me and want me to be there.

But – guess what? He does want me! He wants you too! God wants each of us to stay on the right path. If you want to return to the church, do it! I know some struggle with finding the right church to join, and you’re right – it can be tough. But that doesn’t mean God wants you to stop looking.

If you feel that gentle nudging happening in your heart, you know God wants you to come back to him. Continue to pray every day, but also keep looking for others to connect with in a spiritual manner. You do not have to attend church to be a good person. But please know this (because it took me a LONG time to figure it out!) – God’s church will always take you back!
