DIY Cheese & Candy Stands

As you probably already know, I’m very into DIY for our upcoming wedding. The soon-to-be hubs wants to serve cheese at the reception, and we’re also going to have a candy bar. So I’ve been trying to come up with various ideas to incorporate our colors (red, black, white, and a touch of silver) into serving our food. I got some great inspiration from this post about DIY treat stands.

So I started looking for vases and bowls/plates. I came up with the products below.

The red plate, the black bowl, and the white bowl each only cost $2. The two white vases were $0.50 each. Add in a super glue and each of these cost me only $4. I’ll take it! =)

I envision the cheese platter looking something like this. I have no idea what the chocolate/candy one will look like, but I know it’ll all come together. =)

Now the only problem is storing them dust-free until next summer…

Update: One did break before our wedding. Thankfully a little super glue put it back together, but I don’t recommend getting these done months in advance unless you have truly safe storage! If you make them in the right colors, they’d be great in the bathroom for organization after the wedding, or for jewelry in the bedroom, or maybe even in the office. Our colors didn’t match anything, so we gave them to another bride for her wedding.

Thanks for stopping by!
