DIY Bridal Shower Gift {FREE Editable Download}

August 31, 2015

There are affiliate links in many of the posts on this site. This means your purchase supports myself, my business, and my family when you click through to buy - at no additional cost to you. This site also uses cookies. You can learn more here. Thank you!

Maybe I’m the exception to the rule, but I’m not a big fan of bridal showers. A bunch of women sit around and “ooh” and “ahh” over pots, pans, Tupperware, and other random kitchen and home items. It’s totally not my thing! {Which probably explains why I refused to have any bridal showers before our wedding… Sorry, mom!}

This post contains affiliate links. Please read my entire disclosure statement here.

However much I dislike showers, it seems like I still feel obligated to attend them regularly. It’s easy to get someone an item off their gift registry, and I know they’ll appreciate it since they obviously want it. However, I don’t like how impersonal it is. I want them to get something they will truly enjoy.

Personalize the Gift!If you're on the lookout for a meaningful DIY bridal shower gift - look no further! You're going to love this FREE download you can personalize to best fit the bride and groom. Click through to grab your free printable today!

For example, one of my male friends got married while I was in college. I knew him well, but I hardly knew his wife. Since her shower was about three hours away, I sent a rolling pin that was on their wedding registry. Boring, right? It could have been, but it wasn’t!

I also added a short note telling her that she could use it in the kitchen or to keep him in line – whichever was needed more at the time. This bride came running up to me during her wedding reception. She said that was the best gift she received at the shower just because it was personalized and fit her husband so well! {I’d known him throughout high school. I fully understood that she had her hands full!}

The point is that homemade or thoughtful gifts tend to be better received than just some random “thing”. With that in mind, I created this little bridal shower gift (which I’ve blogged about before here). It’s great for those of us who wait until the last minute to buy gifts because you can use items that are right around your home!

So why am I blogging about this again when I’ve done it in the past? Because now you can download a FREE, editable copy! {And I can reference it myself each time I have a shower to attend and not have to retype it! HA!}

When you get your download, I highly recommend re-typing numbers 3, 6, 7, 12, and possible numbers 14 and 15. The first four you should reword to put the bride-to-be’s husband’s name. The last two were fitting because my sister-in-law wore six inch heels to the wedding, and she’s a BIG fan of all things glittery. Either take these out or edit them to fit the bride you know!

Another thing you may want to do is edit the fonts. My favorite font artist is Kimberly Geiswein. You can find her fonts at DaFont. If you’d love to spruce up the fonts, but you’re not sure how – check out this link. You can also use the fonts I used in the picture if you have a TeachersPayTeachers account. I bought my fonts from Jennifer Jones of Hello Literacy.

You can grab bags here, and I simply used leftover ribbon and “filler” on the inside to spruce it up a bit.

What else would you add to this list? I’d love to see it in the comments below so I have more ideas for the next time I need to use this gift!
