DIY 3D Letter Monogram

I have this bad tendency to see something on Pinterest, pin it, and then eventually make it – but change it entirely so it looks nothing like the pin I originally started with! This project would be another example of that!

I started with this architectrual letters idea from Blick’s website. Then I just wasn’t sure if I could do all that, so I started improvising.

First, I went and bought some wood letters. Then I had to find something to go between them…

Can you believe that’s actually an olive oil container filled with small rocks? YEP! (I’m crazy desperate creative like that!)

Unfortunately this is where I quit taking pictures. I took the olive oil container shown above and placed it between the two F’s. Then I took white duck tape and wrapped it totally around the outside of the entire F, making sure to cover every.single.surface.

I then went through my entire scrapbooking supply and pulled out every white, off-white, silver, and shimmery item that I had. Roughly six hours later (and LOTS of glue!), I had this finished product —

I really wish this picture did the project more justice! The total project is just over a foot tall and it’s absolutely GORGEOUS! I will try to get more pictures taken on our wedding day, so hopefully you can really see the true beauty in it. ๐Ÿ™‚

My sister-in-law is getting married three weeks after us, and she’s already asked to use this for her wedding as well. YEA! Extra use for all those hours I put into this.

Plus it will double as a house decoration after the wedding, so it wasn’t like a one and done type of project. I’ll get to enjoy this for YEARS to come!

The big day is almost here!
